Completed! Team RCC

Raleigh Coffee Company had an awesome triathlon team for the Ironman Raleigh 70.3 event on June 2, 2013!

We assembled 20 athletes from around the United States to participate as team members for the Ironman Raleigh 70.3. That’s right we made up almost 1% of all 2,250 participants in the entire race.

That might not sound like much, but that really isn’t the whole story. Our goal, aside from the race itself was for our 20 teammates to make an epic impression on the Raleigh community long after we crossed the finish line.

When we launched Raleigh Coffee Company we wanted our impact to go beyond providing a great source of caffeine. We wanted to make an impact in our community and the world as well.

We decided to create “Bean Projects” to accomplish that goal. Our Bean Projects are created to raise money for a specific charitable need locally, nationally, and globally. This isn’t money that goes into a black hole, this is money that is put directly to use on the specific project we have selected.

Many on our team were brand new to the multi-sport community and some of us were brand new to endurance racing in general. We had such a fun time training that we want everyone to have this experience, especially KIDS!

As a team we raised over $10,000 through the Alexander YMCA, right here in Raleigh, to provide scholarships for kids to attend a summer camp including a multi-sport activity and event. Over 55 kids from the Triangle were able to attend summer camp through this donation.

That is INCREDIBLE! We did not do this all by ourselves. Each of the 20 team members helped raise over $10,000 through our personal networks, families, friends, and co-workers.

Corporate donors included:

PNC Bank

Food City

Johnson Memorial Hospital

Southern Table Provisions

Thank you to all of our donors.
